Torlesse Zone e-Mailing Lists

  Along with the Web Server there is an email server that provides email addresses and e-mailing lists.

If any group would like an email address or e-mail list setup then contact the

E-Mailing lists are like Distribution Lists that you may setup in your Email program, however they can be used by anyone that is given access to do so. Also if someone replies to a message sent to a List it is automatically sent back to everyone on the list.

Here are some instructions to Join existing lists:

Right Click on the following link and Open in Another Window, so that you can read these instructions at the same time as filling in the form.

    You will get a page that looks like this:

    To Subscribe to a list:

    Enter the name of the List that you want to Subscribe to in to the "Enter the name of the list here" box

    Lists that are currently avaialable are:

    Click on the name for a description of the list. More will be added over time, so keep an eye on this page.

    There are other lists that are not open to anyone to Subscribe to. Details about these will be sent to you directly.

    Once you have entered a list names press Proceed and you will be presented with a page to enter your details into. It will look like this:

    Enter your details as per the instructions and press Subscribe. You will then be sent an email welcoming you to the list, it also tells you that you need to Confirm your subscription by replying to the email.

    To confirm your subscription to the list, you must reply to this message, and write the two letters "OK" on their own as the first line of the reply. The remainder of the reply will be ignored. Please note that you must *reply* to this message - the text of the subject line must be preserved, although it doesn't matter if your mail program adds "Re" or a similar string before the subject text.

    After that you can send email to all members of thelist by sending your message to

    [list name]@scoutingtorlesse.org

    Where [list name] is the name of the list. eg Torlesse-Discussion

    Note that emails received, and using the Reply To option will have an address of [list name]@mail.scoutingtorlesse.org. This is Ok

    To make changes to your subscription, eg change your email addres, or to un-subscribe you can use the lower part of the Mail Server page on the link at the top of the page.
